Engineering Master Plan

Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center

Winston-Salem, NC

This project, first completed in 1990 and updated in 1997, created an engineering master plan for the central utility plant and the campus infrastructure system.  The concept and master plan encompasses nearly 15,000 tons of refrigeration capacity, 160,000 pounds per hour of boiler steam capacity, as well as the entire 12,460-volt electrical primary system.  Extensive performance evaluation and modeling of each system was undertaken with regard to loading and available redundancy.  The completed master plan included identification of problems and recommendations of repairs.
