Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager
Stanford White is currently seeking employment of a Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager. Requirements include: a Professional Engineering (PE) license, experience working in an engineering consulting firm, overall project supervision experience, and design experience in the mechanical construction engineering field. Our project designs are typically institutional (hospitals, education facilities, central plants, etc.); however, we are occasionally involved with more architecturally-based projects (libraries, office buildings, public safety facilities, etc.).
The candidate must have viable consulting mechanical engineering experience, most notably with construction projects as mentioned above, preferably in our profile markets. Specifically, this individual is required to have mechanical (boiler, chiller, air handling, piping, ductwork, plumbing) system design experience. The Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager position includes mechanical engineering design on both projects managed by this individual, as well as on projects managed by others. Structural, fire protection and electrical design experience are not required, however exposure to these disciplines is also a plus since as Project Manager, this individual will be required to coordinate the production of all engineering elements within the office.
Stanford White utilizes the "Project Manager" system for control of the project efforts during the design and construction stage. This concept places the one individual in responsible charge of the project, answerable to the client, to manage staff assignments, scheduling, production methods, and other aspects to insure that the project is produced within the required time frame and budget. As Project Manager, a key element of the job is to enhance communication and coordination of the design elements. Accordingly, supervisory experience and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Stanford White's reputation is built on providing the highest quality engineering services to our clients; therefore, it is important that our engineers reflect this by their ability to exercise common sense, design practical systems, and provide good service. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager with the requisite background experience who wants to be a team member in a growing and progressive environment.
